Indie Ink Awards 2024

For the first time, my books have been nominated. James and Seventeen need your help!

The Indie Ink Awards is an annual contest run by Indie Story Geek, with public nominations and voting, and lots of different categories. For the first time, two of my books—From the Grave of the Gods, and The Re-Emergence have received nominations in several categories. I am amazed, since they’ve been eligible for the contest for a number of years, and never got anything before! When I saw everyone posting about the emails they had gotten announcing their nominations, I thought that I had missed the boat again, but it turns out that even though my books were listed on Indie Story Geek, because I didn’t have an account, they couldn’t simply send the email to me. Instead, it came a bit later through my website contact form!

Nomination is only the first stage of the process, however. The second stage, public voting, opens on Sunday 15 December, and is usually open for two weeks.

So both James and Seventeen need you!

From Sunday, you can go onto indiestorygeek and vote for The Re-Emergence or From the Grave of the Gods in the following categories:

The Re-Emergence

  • Best book cover and cover artist

  • Best friendship

  • Best mentor character

  • Best setting

  • Best use of tropes

From the Grave of the Gods

  • Best book cover and cover artist

  • Best mentor character

  • Best setting

After public voting ends, the top ten of each category move on as finalists to the judged reading phase. I know my books aren’t as widely read as many on the list, but it would be amazing if, thanks to your help with voting, one of my books became a finalist! You may need to create an account on Indie Story Geek in order to vote, but the process is pretty quick and simple.

Please go to the website on Sunday 15 December and cast your votes for your favourite immortal and/or endearing sentient AI!
